Liquid biopsies have several advantages including being minimally invasive, allowing repeated sampling and sampling is often clinical routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course will provide an overview of several techniques to detect and analyse liquid biopsy-based analytes such as cell-free tumor-DNA (ctDNA), miRNA, extracellular vesicles, mRNA, proteins and single cells. Participants will be introduced to all aspects ranging from proper sampling through analyte analysis and final data analysis. Experimentally, we will demonstrate ultrasensitive ctDNA analysis using sequencing, antobody-based proteomics and digital PCR. Lectures will cover developments in molecular technologies, biomarker discovery and clinical applciations, all in relation to liquid biopsies. We will also cover aspects of of pre-analytic, biobanking as well as data analysis with bioinformatics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Audience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This course targets scientists entering the field of liquid biopsy analysis and wanting to learn about the benefits and limitations of different approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Modules \/ resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ultra-sensitive mutation detection using sequencing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flow cytometry with applications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital PCR applications in the liquid biopsy workflow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proteomics in liquid biopsies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on data analysis and interpretations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning outcomes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants will receive an overview of various experimental workflows in liquid biopsies, from sample preparation to data analysis. The course provides an overview of current theories, methods and emerging applications. A strong focus will be on experimental design, best practices, pitfalls as well as dos and don\u2019ts.
