Over 30 former research and service staff from Heidelberg and the outstations met in the first of a regular series of informal get-togethers, which will be organised by EMBL-EBI in the UK every six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants included EMBL leavers from two decades ago to-date, now well established in academic and industry careers mainly at the University of Cambridge, Sanger Institute and GlaxoSmithKline.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The EMBL-EBI organisers, Lindsey Crosswell and Mary Todd Bergman, will also look into holding future events further afield from Cambridge, as suggested by those who attended. There next informal gathering is planned for spring 2013.
