The event provides a crucial opportunity for Europe\u2019s life scientists to meet, get an update on the latest research in their fields and forge important ties to others in the research community.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div><!--[vf\/content]-->\n<div class=\"vf-content\">\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"vf-grid | vf-grid__col-3\"><div class=\"vf-grid__col--span-2\"><!--[vf\/content]-->\n<div class=\"vf-content\">\n\n<p>Highlights of this year\u2019s meeting included talks by several present and former EMBL scientists. EMBL Group Leader Elena Conti was awarded the ELSO Early Career Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hans Sch\u00f6ler, Group Leader in EMBL\u2019s Gene Expression Programme from 1991 to 1999, gave a special EMBL Alumni Association lecture in which he traced the path of his career after EMBL.
