Rome Fiumicino Airport
Public transport from Fiumicino Airport to EMBL
Monterotondo takes about 1.15 hours and costs
5,00 Euro one way. There are two lines that leave from Fiumicino: the non-stop one goes directly to Rome main station Stazione Termini; the second line [FM1 train to Fara Sabina] will take you to Monterotondo. This train stops at all stations along the way. It will go through Rome and then outwards, to Monterotondo-Mentana Station. [see Travel by train].
There are several car rental companies at Fiumicino Airport. It is about a 70 km drive from the airport to Monterotondo.
Rome Ciampino Airport
Public transport from Rome Ciampino Airport to EMBL Monterotondo takes about 1.15 hours. Take the RyanAir bus to Stazione Termini. From there, take the underground
[B line] to Stazione Tiburtina. From Tiburtina, take the train, direction Fara Sabina, to Monterotondo-Mentana Station. This will take about 25 minutes and costs 3,00 Euro [see Travel by train].
There are several car rental companies at Ciampino Airport. It is about a 50 km drive from the airport to Monterotondo. |

| It is about a 35 km drive from Rome to Monterotondo. Depending upon the time of the day, it can take between 30 minutes [non-rush hour] to 1,5 hours. Driving from Rome, take the via Salaria [SS 4] to Monterotondo-Scalo. Drive through Scalo, staying on the Salaria. Follow the signs to the Zona Industriale towards the end of Scalo. There is a Ford car showroom on the corner at the left hand side. Turn into via Leonardo da Vinci and follow the road to the very end, then turn right for via Ramarini. The campus is on your immediate left.

| Take the metro to Stazione Tiburtina. From there, take the train, direction Fara Sabina, to Monterotondo-Mentana Station. This will take about 25 minutes and costs 3,00 Euro. There is a shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes between the station and EMBL in the morning from 07:53-10:55 and in the evening from 16:39-19:24. At any other times, you will need to call the lab and get someone to meet you as there are no taxis in Monterotondo. |

no taxis in Monterotondo, the drivers may charge
