class of train [ICE, IC or EC].
The regional trains leave from the Regionalbahnhof and are cheaper but slower. You must usually change

in the city centre. The first bus leaves at 06:25,
and as of 06:55, there is one bus every full
hour until 18:55. Get off at the
bus stop 'Kernphysikalisches Institut' and follow the EMBL crowd through the premises of the Max-Planck-Institute. [You need an access card in order to pass the gates, which you will receive when registered as a visitor at the EMBL. This is not valid for conference participants.]
Otherwise, get off at the bus stop 'Bierhelderhofweg', turn right down the hill, turn left
into Bierhelderhofweg, walk down past the farm,

After 20:30, you have to call the HSB taxi service, line 1004. It takes the same route as bus line 39, but the taxi will only come if you call it at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure [ring 06221 302030]. As this is a public transport service, the taxi will not wait beyond the scheduled departure time. Fare per passenger is EUR 1,50.
