Challenging molecules
The 3-day course is designed to enable the participant teachers to:
Learn why and how scientists study specific molecules with state-of-the-art techniques
Perform experiments side by side with scientists to learn the 'tricks of the trade'
Get familiar with teaching kits and educational games that present modern concepts and techniques of molecular biology in a proactive approach.

The programme will include:
Seminars by top EMBL scientists
Hands-on experiments on DNA and protein technologies
High-tech demonstrations [crystal structure analysis, real time imaging, electron microscopy]
Interactive educational activities.

Who can attend the course?
The course is open to all European high-school science teachers.

Language
The course will be run in English.

Number of participants
The course will be open to 15 participants only.

Costs
Course materials and catering will be free of charge. However, participants are expected to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
