Visiting Scientists
The following visitor's categories are integrated in the EICAT Visiting Scientists Programme:

Visiting Scientists
Scientists who need training in one of the specialised groups of the Laboratory, who wish to evaluate possibilities for their own institutions, or to perform a specific project.

Scientific Collaborators
Scientists who are integrated in the work of a research group for the duration of the visit in order to perform joint experiments or discuss collaborative projects with individual members of the EMBL faculty. They may be trained in the process of this research and may set up possibilities for future collaborations.

Sabbatical Visitors
Senior scientists who wish to be associated with a specific group or unit or the laboratory as a whole, for a period of study, reflection, writing, exposure to ongoing research etc.

Visiting PhD Students
PhD students who are not members of the EMBL International PhD Programme. They are registered with an external institution for their PhD and spend less than half of their PhD duration at the EMBL in order to benefit from EMBL technologies and methods for specific parts of their thesis.
