Alison Abbott is Senior European Correspondent for Nature, the international weekly journal of science. She is based in Munich and writes news, features and editorials on a variety of topics, particularly biology and science policy in Europe. She also runs Nature's weekly Science in Culture column.
She earned her PhD in pharmacology at the University of Leeds and after a few years of teaching and research at the university, she served as editor of Trends in Pharmacological Sciences before joining Nature in 1992.
