EMBL provides a variety of facilities to accommodate the individual needs of each course, conference or symposium.
Mac G3 and PC laptops are available. Please give
advance notice to photolab@embl.de.
Note: We do not support floppy disks anymore.
All facilities are wheelchair accessible. |

The Operon
[Theatre style: 280 seats]
The Operon is the large conference room. It
can be divided into the Large Operon and the
Small Operon. Located on the ground floor
of the Connection Building and accessible
through a direct entrance from Meyerhofstraße
[next to the EMBO Building]. |

Large Operon
[Theatre style: 190 seats]
The Large Operon is
equipped with the following:
Overhead projector, slide projector, laserpointer,
beamer [computer/video projector], DVD player,
video player [all systems], Ibook laptop [CD,
Zip, OS 9.04, Office 2000 Mac], PC laptop
[Zip, CD, Windows 2000, Office 98], network
[internet] connections [in translators' booths
at the back]. |

Small Operon
[Theatre style: 95 seats]
The room is equipped
with the following:
Overhead projector, slide projector, DVD
player, video player [all systems].
Macintosh G3 laptop [CD, Zip, OS 9.04, Office
98 Mac], PC laptop [CD, fWindows 2000, Office
2000]. |

Operon Foyer
Reception
area during conferences [collect your badge
and conference material here].
The Operon Foyer is
equipped with the following:
Space for poster presentations [1.10m x
1.10m], industrial exhibitions, sponsors'
displays.
Venue for coffee and [partly] lunch breaks.
Public coin phone and credit card phone
[card phone is located in the EMBL Main
Entrance]. |

Room 202
[Theatre style: 40-60 seats]
The room is equipped
with the following:
Overhead projector, slide projector, video
player [all systems], beamer [computer/video
projector], DVD player, network [internet]
connections, laserpointer.
Video transmission of presentations
from Operon during conferences for latecomers
and in-house participants. |

Teaching Lab [30 benches]
The lab is equipped
with the following:
Incubators with or without CO2,
microwave, speedvac, -20°C freezer, ice
machine, water baths, biofuges, heatblocks,
magnet stirrers, vortex, rocking machines,
Gilson/Eppendorf pipettes and others.
In addition:
Cell culture room with two laminar flow
hoods, each with bunsen burner and pipetman,
4°C coldroom, darkroom.
Microscopes may be borrowed for a fee from Zeiss [advance notice requried, please contact Corinna Gorny. |
